DNA TEST, SIBLINGSHIP

If you want to know if siblings (brothers and/or sisters) share one or both biological parents in common, a Siblingship DNA Test can help determine the statistical probability of whether they are half or full siblings, or unrelated.

The process is very simple and easy. Our professional medical assistant will rub soft swabs on the inside of both cheeks of all participating siblings and when possible a known parent. If two siblings are trying to determine whether or not they have the same father, the known parent’s (mother’s) participation is encouraged. If the mother is tested along with the siblings, the mother’s DNA will be compared to her children. The remaining DNA will have been contributed from their father(s). Adding a known parent to a Siblingship DNA Test will greatly increase the conclusiveness of the test and is highly recommended.

The cost of our Siblingship DNA Test includes testing two siblings. If the mother, more than two siblings, or the father participate in the testing, additional fees will be incurred.

TEST DETAILS:

Results:

This test will reflect the likelihood of relationship.

High Likelihood of Relationship Indicates:

If the siblingship index is greater than 1.00, this indicates that the tested individuals are more likely to be true biological relatives.  The higher the value of the index, the greater the likelihood that the individuals are true biological relatives.

Low or No Likelihood of Relationship Indicates:

If the siblingship index is less than 1.00, this indicates likelihood of non-relatedness.

**Note:  When a known parent is not included in the Siblingship DNA Test,  the test results may not always be conclusive.
